Senior Hardware Specialist

What you will do

You will be shaping the future of Lensor! Lensor is a top-notch AI start-up, where a team of 10 young and bright people is working on automating vehicle inspections. As a Senior Hardware specialist you keep improving the gate and you are on the lookout for the best changes and adjustments to make sure we offer our customers the best possible image quality and therefore, the best damage inspection performance. We are looking for someone who likes to experiment with new products and who likes prototyping.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Hardware Specialist, your responsibilities include:

  • Iterative development and improvement of the inspection gate based on research into computer vision cameras and the of external lighting
  • Optimize the gate setup to be more scalable and reliable. This includes developments such as replacement of the current server for an embedded device, improve vehicle detections and scalability of gate sensor assembly
  • Being proactive and spotting opportunities to improve the gate or to add new features to the gate
  • Research optimal camera and light placement to obtain the best possible image quality under varying light conditions
  • Interface the camera’s, sensors, and lights into a full robust solution
  • In charge of future roadmaps and keeping the overview of the hardware team 
  • Support and guide jr. hardware specialists by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities;
  • Grow the Hardware team by interviewing, recruiting, and hiring new talents;

We are looking for

Lensor is looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic colleague with an innovation mindset.  Ideally, you have: 

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering/ Embedded systems and automation or similar;
  • 3-5 years experience with developing embedded systems;
  • Multiple years of work experience with C/C++, VHDL, and Python;
  • Experience with designing and developing machine vision cameras and interfacing with multi-camera systems;
  • Knowledge/ experience with AI is a big plus;
  • Experience with light and sensors for machine vision cameras;
  • Good communication skills with the ability to give quality feedback to the team (Dutch and English);
  • Experience with supporting and guiding jr. hardware specialists
  • Experience with internal stakeholder management;
  • You are familiar with methodologies and techniques as UML, Design Patterns, Agile;
  • You see changes as an opportunity to learn and grow and you can deal with ambiguity;
