What you will do
You will be shaping the future of Lensor! Lensor is a top-notch AI start-up, where a team of 10 young and bright people are working on automating vehicle inspections. As a Senior Software Engineer at Lensor, you will guide the software engineering team and manage the quality of our product. You will develop a vision on the software strategy and play an important role in the quality assurance. You are a highly skilled developer, with an aim for people, quality and continuous improvements.
Our tech stack includes: Python, AWS, GitHub, Sentry, Balena, Docker, FastApi, PyTorch
Your Responsibilities
You will continuously improve and extend the existing solution by bringing new ideas to the table, while keeping the customer focus in mind. The small team and innovative nature of the project enables you to work on a diverse set of challenges. As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Take ownership of the full software solution and each individual software project;
- Development of a vision on the software development process and tooling;
- Transform new business ideas into technical requirements;
- Develop new software according to the software development standards;
- Support and guide jr. software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities;
- Guide others in writing good quality software and advocate the importance of best practices;
- Collaborate with other software engineers and other teams to design new products and solutions for our end-users;
- Grow the Software Engineering team by interviewing, recruiting, and hiring new talents;
- Keeping quality in mind during each step of the development cycle;
We are looking for
Lensor is looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Software Engineer with an innovation mindset. Ideally, you have:
- Master’s degree in an appropriate field of study;
- 3+ years of relevant experience;
- Fluent with object-oriented programming and minimal 3 years of working experience in Python;
- Experience with C++ is a big plus;
- 3+ years of experience with relational and non-relational databases;
- Experience with serverless applications;
- Experience with testing and documentation of code;
- Experience in communicating with users and other technical teams to collect and set requirements;
- Good project management and time-keeping skills to estimate project complexity and duration;
- Experience with implementing high quality and large scale software systems that need a 24/7 uptime;
- Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle: coding standards, code reviews, CI/CD, testing and operations;
- Eager to explore new technologies;
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines;
- Knowledge of cloud systems and serverless applications, preferably AWS;
- Experience with image data is a big plus;
- A confident communicator with written and verbal communication skills (Dutch and English);
- Experience with FastAPI is a plus;
- Experience with camera/vision systems is a big plus;
- Experience with error and performance monitoring is a plus;
